Injury Timeout

It’s been a long two weeks.

My intention was to spend just one week away from blogging while spending a week on vacation with my family.

The house and beach were as beautiful as always.wpid-20130331_184734.jpg

on the beach. I got about a 1/2 mile down the beach and saw this dock/pier/death trap and decided this would be a good place to walk out and take some pictures.

I said to myself, “That is going to be slippery, be careful.” I snapped a couple of pictures and decided, let me walk out a little further…

and this waswpid-20130401_115322.jpg the last picture I took before I fell to my death.

Ok, so not my death but my (temporary) life-altering injury.

I spent the rest of my week pretty much bed/sofa ridden.

I successfully dislocated my kneecap and tore my ACL .

Luckily, our vacation home has a movie theater, elevator, and my extremely caring and accommodating family.

Nevertheless, I am grateful it wasn’t worse, I am glad to be back on the west coast, and I am slowly healing.

I have realized and learned a lot with this injury and you can be certain this won’t be the last you hear about it and the epiphanies I have had in the past two weeks.

Hope you all are well and enjoying Spring.
