Bullying

Heartbreaking.

Life threatening.

Life ending.

Devastating.

Needless.

I write because I love it, I love words. I understand the power of words and I understand that using this platform comes with a responsibility to choose my words carefully.

Sticks and stone can break your bones AND words can certainly hurt you. You can buy a shield, body armour, bulletproof vests, things to protect your physical body. There is nothing available to protect your mind. Aside from the fact that mean, untrue, and hurtful things never need to be said,  there are people who can’t take being teased, who internalize what may seem like a harmless teasing, especially if it’s been going on for a while.

Bullying has reached an astonishing level these days and while the subject is much deeper than one brief blog post can cover, it’s still worth addressing.

If you are a bully or if you have been or are being bullied, I invite you to speak with someone you trust, contact an agency that can help here, or feel free to email me if you’d like (Info@LaunchYoungAdults.org).
